Financing Sustainable Aviation Fuels: Case Studies and Implications for Investment |
Based on early success stories and insights from expert interviews and regional roundtables, this white paper explores 10 financial levers that could mobilize the estimated $19-45 billion of investment in SAF production required by 2030. This white paper is part of the World Economic Forum's Airports of Tomorrow initiative, launched in collaboration with Airports Council International (ACI) World to focus on the energy, infrastructure and financing requirements of the aviation industry as it transitions to net-zero by 2050. |

Five Years to Chart a New Future for Aviation |
Cambridge University has released a report outlining a five-year roadmap to help the aviation sector achieve net-zero climate impact by 2050. It outlines four 2030 Sustainable Aviation Goals—specific, actionable steps that must be initiated immediately and completed within five years if the aviation sector is to be on track to achieve net-zero by 2050. |

Net zero carbon road-map technical report |
In April 2023 Sustainable Aviation launched its updated Net Zero Carbon Road-Map which illustrates their view of a pathway to achieving Net Zero Carbon emissions from UK aviation activity by the year 2050. This Technical Report provides further rationale, assumptions and data used to compile the Road-Map. Therefore the Summary Report and this new document, the Technical Report, should be read in conjunction with each other. |

Powering aircraft with 100 % sustainable aviation fuel reduces ice crystals in contrails |
Powering aircraft by sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) is a pathway to reduce the climate impact of aviation by lowering aviation lifecycle CO₂ emissions and by reducing ice crystal numbers and radiative forcing from contrails. While the effect of SAF blends on contrails has been measured previously, this paper presents novel measurements on particle emission and contrails from 100 % SAF combustion. |
